Alumni Volunteers for MLK Day of Service with RISD Community, Jan.16th

Hello everyone,

Happy New Year! Hope all have had a wonderful holiday season and are ready for 2012!
We have a really fun project underway for RISD, and we’d like to invite you to join us. On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, January 16th, we will be running arts & crafts workshops at Martin Luther King Elementary. The day will run from 10am-3pm, and you’ll have a chance to show your work to some really enthusiastic, great kids, and hear about their interest in art. Some of the tables will include face painting, silk screening, apple/fruit stamping, caricatures, etc.  We are also looking for ideas! Want to sign up for one of the tables? Or even dream up a table and we’ll set you up with supplies?
This Day of Service is sponsored by RISD and are looking to incorporate as many people from all parts of our community. They asked that I share this with you all and hope to see you at one of the info sessions and the day of the event. I have a sign up form below for Jan. 16th. If you are unsure right now of your attendance, please sign up anyway so we can get an idea of those interested.
Come to one of our student and volunteer interest meetings! We’re having two:

Friday, January 6th, 7pm

RISD Tap Room, above Memorial Hall on Benefit Street
Tuesday January 10th, 7pm
RISD Tap Room, above Memorial Hall on Benefit Street
To remind you, RISD is closed on MLK, Jr Day, so you don’t have to worry about conflicts with class. We’d really love to have you, and hope to see you at the meeting.
We had an event like this last year (that was awesome!) at the Davey Lopes Rec Center. Check out some pictures on CSI’s website.

Happy New Year,
