Hey, did you know if you want to know what’s going on currently at RISD and in your Alumni community, stay connected by reading and receiving RISD XYZ. Also, if you’d like to share news of recent work, projects, marriages/unions, births and recognition, don’t hesitate and email risdxyz@risd.edu.

If you’re not getting your current issue in the mail, be sure to update your contact information in the RISD Directory, or email risdxyz@risd.edu. Hopefully, you have received recent emails of the RISD alumni directory being relaunched and the need to follow-up and either register if you are a first time user or as the email explains:

Here’s some helpful first time log in info:

1. Go to http://www.risd.edu/alumni
2. Click on “Register now” in the login box, then search for your record by last name only. If your record appears with the words “already registered”, simply click on the link in the directions. (NOTE: If the above address is an @alum.risd.edu address, the system will not recognize you as previously registered.)

3. If the system cannot verify you, or if you have never registered before, you will be prompted to search for yourself using your last name, then enter your birthdate to authenticate your account. You must enter your birthdate as follows: mmddyyyy. Note there are no dashes.

4. If you currently have an email forwarding account created in the directory, you will need to register in the new directory and set up a new email forwarding account. You can use the same account you have previously used, you just need to re-enter this email in the new system for email forwarding to continue working.

NOTE: Alumni with a g.risd.edu account will not be affected by this change.

With every change there are bound to be some glitches, and we’ve done our best to assure that there are few. If you have questions/problems, send  an email by clicking on “support” or contact Claire Robinson at crobinson**at**risd.edu or me at chartley**at**risd.edu, and we’ll respond as soon as we can.

Hi Becky, I’m looking for reassurance – I responded to the call for submissions for Periphery and have not had any confirmation that my submission was received. As the deadline, Jan 27, is coming soon, it would make me feel better to know that I am registered – or submitted – or whatever it is called. In addition, i signed up to help with setting up the show or however else I might be useful. I spoke to Clare Robinson and emailed Cade Tompkins and they both said you are the point person. I think Periphery sounds like a wonderful event and would love to be part of it. Looking forward to your reply.

      Hi Susan,

Thank you for your comment and concern.
On Jan. 11th I received both your submission entry and email. I responded on Jan. 21st that your submission had been received and that we appreciate your volunteerism to help with the show. I replied and sent the email after receiving an email from Chris Hartley, at Alumni Relations. My apologies that there was not a confirmation email being sent out after forms were submitted. It was sent from risd.represent@gmail.com. Might it have gone to a spam folder? Thank you for your patience, Becky

    Hi Becky,
Thanks for your reply. I don’t see any previous email from you, so am glad to get the confirmation and look forward to participating in Periphery one way or another.
